It is an original take on the vampire genre by Charlaine Harris. She makes you experience an exciting new world with her storytelling. Her characters are unique and well developed. Sookie, the heroine is an example. Sookie is normal,well she is a telepath, but also is a normal woman, a normal person. She has priorities, goals and cares for her family, but also, finds herself immerse on a supernatural world. This juxtaposition of supernatural/normal makes her appealing to the reader.
